Dieting Advice Please

First, I have learned SO MUCH from you guys here! I need some more advice though.

I'm 27, 5'11" tall and weigh 265. I have been dieting "hardcore" for a couple months and started out at 320+, so I have made some progress. However I seem to have hit a weight loss plateau.

Could someone more knowledgeable than me critique my diet to see where I can make some improvements? Here's an average day for me:

Breakfast
Low carb protein bar (approx 30 grams protein, 3 carbs)

Mid Morning
Protein Shake (EAS Complete Whey, 40-50 grams protein, approx 8-12 carbs)

Lunch
Protein Shake (EAS Complete Whey, 40-50 grams protein, approx 8-12 carbs)

Dinner
Usually lean protein such as chicken, lean steak, tuna. No starchy stuff like breads or pastas.

I know I probably need to eat more lean proteins and carbs. I do have days where I will "carb" up, whenever my body starts complaining of low blood sugar (headaches, dizziness, etc).

I take stack Hydroxycut, Nortesten, and Acetabolan-II. The only one worth anything in my opinion is the Hydroxcut. :) I also take r-ALA, L-Gutamine, Fish Oil, as well a multi-vitamin. I also like to pack in about 3000 grams of vitamin C (don't know why, been doing it for years). Rarely get sick! lol

Anyways I work out 7 days a week, doing 30-60 minutes of cardio everyday. I lift moderate to heavy alternating upper/lower body 4-5 days a week. I almost always work a body part till muscle failure, around 3-5 sets for each.

I know I could drop the supplements and stack in some AS to drop the weight but I want to stay natural as long as possible (the bros on the AS board recommend the same). I'm no where near my potential as far as muscle growth goes but I was a .COM slug for 5 years and put on a crap load of weght. I mainly want to get rid of the gut and luv handles, then concentrate solely on building lean muscle mass.

So, if any of you experts are still reading this novel, can you offer any advice? Maybe alternate weeks with some NYC?

Thanks for listening,

John

The solution to your problem is very simple: you're NOT eating enough calories. You're taking in between 1000-1200 cal and that's an overstatement. Where you should be taking in at least 2900 cal. That's your weight x 11.

Before I throw meals plans at you, why do you have such a high array of meal replacements? how about real foods w/ flaxseed (efa's)?

Good question. Really, I don't know.

Seemed like calorie restriction was a good idea at the time - even though I knew better. Once my body got use to it, I found that I was never hungry so I'd just drink a proetin shake. I figure restricting my intake has probably killed my metabolism although I seem to be in ketosis on a regular basis (been using those strips to monitor ketone levels in my urine).

Real food would be great to be honest with you.

Thanks,

WOW!

Thanks! That makes sense reading some of your other articles. And that is A LOT OF FOOD, for me anyways.

I'm gonna give that a try and I'm sure I'll be successful!

Thanks again!
