diet question:Carbs Vs Fat

I have been doing alot of research on diet, and what i am finding is that carbs are what you want t do your best to limt, i know that you shouldn't have a diet thats high in fat, but how bad is fat really??doesnt most of it pass right through you?? about how many grmas of fat and carbs should you get in a day. I want to lean up for the summer so please help me out
 
Carbs are the devil. Avoid them after midday if you are cutting.Rasonable amount of fats are ok, specially the insaturated ones.
