Diet Change Up?

SOEX

New member
Well, I'm starting to go crazy on my current diet, so I'm thinking I'm going to change it up a little. My main concern is that my calories may be a little too high. Not too sure though.

Meal 1 - Chicken breast + .5 cup oatmeal and 1 scoop protein

Meal 2 - Chicken breast + .5 cup oatmeal and 1 scoop protein

Meal 3 - Chicken breast + .5 cup oatmeal and 1 scoop protein

Meal 4 - .5 cup oatmeal

Meal 5 - Edimame

If you're wondering what edimame is, it's a soy bean. It breaks down as follows: 30g protein, 8g fat, 3g carbs (there are more carbs as fiber, lots of fiber), and about 270 calories.

The reason I'm doing so much oatmeal is that with Splenda and Cinnamon it makes me think I'm cheating. Same with the protein powder.

I'm at a point where I'm basically trying to maintain, but still loose a little fat over time. I'm past the point where I really want to try to CKD. This is something I can do long term, and I really enjoy it.

See if there are any major holes in this diet if you can for me.

BTW - My stats are 175, 5'11 at 8-9%.

Actually, your concern about calories being to high is futile, for your caloric intake is WAY TOO LOW. It's around 1800, while to maintain you need weight x 14= (in your case) about 2400cal.

Cool, thanks Mr. X. I get really caught up with calories and such...

I'm always paranoid about getting fatter, even when I'm eating cleanly. Anyway, I'll try to up it a little. I'd like to keep dropping some fat if possible while I do this.

With daily intense workouts and hockey a couple times a week, I don't think it should be a problem. Now I'm at the point where I think my previous dieting pains have paid off, and I just want to go slowly and keep a good body and such.

I think it IS a problem because you'll be in starvation mode, and will mostly likely gain bodyfat is you eat a tad bit more. You're not eating enough, so you need to add calories to the diet. Plus, you're not going to drop fat either, for you are still way under BMR.
