Did you ever get lice as a kid?

I did, I got them from other kids at school. I don't remeber much of it, I think I was in Kindergarden but I think they wound up shaving my head.

I did once. I was at a some sort of deal (4th grade) where a kazillion softball teams got together for a day of leaning....and came home with lice. My dad was so freaked out he made me sit outside. lol After that they got me my own batting helmet.

Yes, when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. My best friend had it and thought it was gone and invited a bunch of friends over. I had really really thick long hair. It was a disaster. My mom had to run that little comb through it with those solutions. It pulled out sinks full of my hair each time. It was awful. Plus, I had been at my mom's, dad's and grandparents. So 3 houses had to be cleaned out. What a mess. I was ready to kill her.

I never got it, but I remember kids freaking out and crying when the health nurses with the little wooden sticks led them out of the classroom.

Yes, my mom loves to tell the story. I always let the poor kids borrow my clothes. I didn't know what lice was when they were checking us for it at school. I came home running down the street yelling, "I got it, Hey momma, I got it. I got lice." She said many of the neighborhood moms heard it and how embarrased she was. That night, my dad scrubbed my head so hard under scalding water, I'll never forget it.

One time I started a rumor about some kid in my school and told everyone he had lice. It was funny.

I didn't even think lice existed in real life, I thought it was only on tv. Or a government conspiracy to make sure kids took showers.
