Did we kill all the 10' apes???

A long time ago, there was a peaceful ape species that was ten feet tall. existed in southeast Asia. It went extinct though Shaquille Oneal makes one wonder if it passed on its genes.

I think man killed it...we had superior intellect and technology.

Any closet anthropologists out there???

1) I doubt they ever existed
2) evolution leads to smaller animals being more efficient - on land - different in water

Well then explain the bones that have been recovered. I seen a jaw...it was huge.

so that explains an entire species?

either way, I'm doubting *we* killed them off.
Yes...I think finding a large number of skeletons does prove the existence of a species. Apparently we know enough about them to conclude that they were peaceful creatures. Much like Shaquille Oneal actually.

It is very easy for me to visualize man deciding to exterminate a man like species that weighed three times as much.

They must be extinct, because the only known location of gorillas is in the rain forest of Africa, along the equator.

They went extinct thousands of years ago before man was even called homo sapien. I think we were called homo erectus at the time.

Homo erectus....musclebrains has got to like that. :D
