Appeal denied
This was posted on the bb contest newsgroup the week of the Olympia:
As many of you know, Bertil Fox, a multi-time NABBA Mr. Universe and perennial Mr. Olympia contender in the 70's and 80's, was found guilty of the double murders of his girlfriend and her mother on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts in 1997. In September 1998, he was sentenced to death by hanging. Although the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is an independent state, as part of the Commonwealth of Nations, St. Kitts' judicial system allows an appeal of a death sentence to the Final Appeal Court, which is the five-member Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London. Earlier this month, the Privy Council denied the appeal, rejecting a "steroid defense" as "irrelevant." This appears to exhaust Bertil's appeals and clears the way for him to be put to death by hanging.
