Hello All,
There's quite a fall out in UK athletics at the moment. Dwayne Chambers, who was given a 2 year ban after the infamous BALCO scandal has returned after his 2 year ban and produced some awesome performances. He has just won a place in the UK team for the Indoor World Championships. The big row now is about whether he should be picked for Beijing. Some of the hyprocisy is amazing considering the scandals that have engulfed UK athletics over the years.
My own opinion is that if you commited the crime, did the time, they you deserve a chance to redeem yourself. Others feel that the only way to clean up athletics is lifetime bans from competing for Britain at the Olympics. Whether its legally possible to stop someone from competing if they won their place fair and square is another matter.
What do you guys think? Lifetime ban or second chance?
