did anyone watch THE RING..?

did you watch the post movie? me and my girl was sitting there talking when the movie was over, then when the credits were done the movie stated again i was like wtf!!

georgie-postmovie? whaddaya mean? there was something after the movie?
anyway about the ending, the way i see it, is this;
samara didn't kill rachel because she made a copy of the tape ("she only wanted to be heard") the gist of the ending is (IMO) that she will never stop killing those who watch the tape "(hence the "she never sleeps") does this make sense?
good movie btw, the distorted faces of the killed people freaked me the fuck out, excellent stuff. why exactly are they distorted? i never quite understood that.

Is this on the DVD? I was thinking of buying a copy.

Quite possibly the lamest movie ever - way too much hype as the "best horror film ever".

The visual impact of the dead bodies was great - but were too few and far between. The video of the images did more to keep me on the edge than anything.

The blurred faces most likely represented that the viewer was already dead, and much like their to be muderess - their face was hidden or blurred to match hers.

Would be interesting to watch the Japanese version and see if they did indeed do a better job with this plot.

My thought about Samara - she looked very similar to Aiden in drag.

you're talking about the pictures and the camera in the store right? what i mean is AFTER they die, why are their faces so screwed up? i understand fear killed them but they looked like zombies with mangled faces. the mouth of the girl in the beginning almost went up her ear.

as for the faces... it just looks like they are all dehydrated... like the had the life juices sucked right out of them.

this movie scared the bejeesus out of me.

i loved the twist involving the two ways of interpereting the littles girls words in the hospital video. she says... "i'm sorry; but it won't stop." the whole movie you think she was saying that she's trying to make it stop but can't. then after they free her from the well and she starts killing, you realize she her words were just a statement of fact, that she wasn't going to stop killing.

good stuff.

My wife and daughter rented it and I refused to watch it. I am not going to waste my time and money to be scarred. I mean there is enough REAL scary stuff in life why waste your time and money watching it with your precious leisure time. I only watch action and comedies. I want to feel better after watching a movie not scared to walk in the dark.

Just can't figure out the attraction to horror.

whats up with the ending?? im so---------->

..the girl wanted her story told so only those who mad a copy of the tape were allowed to live.....all those who did not do that were dragged by the little girl into the well and then died 7 days later - when the bodies were found they "looked" like they had been energed in water for as length of time

I enjoyed the Ring and many people were saying the original was so much better. Those people are smoking crack. Don't bother, watching "Ringu". It had horrible acting and even more pathetic special effects. I understand it was low budget, but it was still very bad.

It does have a slightly different ending
**SPOILER**
Instead of just copying the tape to live, they have to show the copy to someone for the curse to be broken. This doesn't break the curse of bad acting, however as they are just way to giddy in the end.

Indeed. "Ringu" is pretty much exactly the same, yet not nearly as scary.

in the american version they still had to show the tape to someone else to live.

call me a wimp or whatever but this is the first movie since i was a little kid thats actually spooked me.. i wasnt scared while watching it; it was later on that night when i tried going to sleep and i kept getting images of that little girl in my head. plus there is a big t.v. right next to my bed, so that didnt help much.

it spooked me enough that i have no interest in seeing it again.

This was my point from the post above. What is the point of paying for something that disturbs you. Why not just go and get a visitor pass to a morgue and look at twist and dead bodies all day until you get your fill of scary and dead people then split and try to sleep that night and it won't cost you a penny.

it's the same with some people with a rollercoaster i guess...you're 'scared' before you get on but once you do you get one hell of a rush.it's just the feeling of being on the edge of your seat all the time. you know you'll get freaked out but you still want to watch the movie. it's the same when someone tells you 'not to do something'. subconsciously, it only makes you want to do it more.right?

I should have never listened to the hype. Movies are always a let down when I listen to people's opinion. It wasn't that scary but it was creepy

the most important question is:
who the hell made the tape? And how could it contain such twisted imagry? Also the blurred faces wasn't very realistic, along with the girl climbing out of the tv screen. If you want to scare someone, you have to make a movie about stuff that can REALLY happen. It was still a cool movie though, and pretty disturbing.

the girl made the tape herself. remember... she had the ability to imprint images onto film. remember in the hospital when she was using her mind to make the pictures on the x-ray film?

Shit.. I understood everything else about the movie.. but missed that point.. thanks stonecold.

The new version is much better than the original. But i´d like them both, they are way better than the Scream and similiar movies.

.....Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Oh well, so did the other points I mentioned earlier.
