my doctor had a stroke, he was in real bad shape. he is almost fine now. amazing how he recovered. i guess the older you are, the harder it is to recover.

i'm so lucky on my stroke when i look at him. He got it big time. But he recovered really well for his old age (good $ doctors i'm sure had nothing to do with it).

Sucks that the word stroke now has such meaning to me. I feel sorry for all victims. :(

Dick Clark was an embarrasment. His ego won't let him quit. Sad, really; he should have quit a decade ago.
No he was not
he proved to other stroke victims that you can come back and do it after you suffer one.
My heart went out to him and i wanted to cry
but i was very proud of him for having the courage to go back out there and host that show. That took alot of guts

I accept your take on it if the purpose of having him was to make a statement. If the purpose of the show was to entertain, then it was a dismal failure. Again, ego.

My MOM had a bad one just after her 65th birthday. She has been totally paralyzed on her right side ever since. She does not walk or talk, she needs help to use the washroom and get in and out of bed and to wash herself and many other things.

This all happened 15 years ago. We have been taking care of her ever since.

oh yah, not easy to eat when you have no feeling on one side of your face.

im sorry to hear this man, taking care of your parent is hard work and you should be proud of yourself. remember that there is care homes out there if it gets too tough, you have to live your life also...sometimes your parents want you to live even if it means they have to seperate from you.
