Diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia!

DocTodd, have you read about it being related to gear or GH? The Tegretol seems to b e keeping it under control, although there's a continuous dull ache. Man, this sucks! ope it goes away really soon.

Deepsquat, I've never had a migraine, but this neuralgia comes in waves of pain, starting like a toothache, then spreading to the entire left side of the face, from the eye socket down to the lower jaw. The pain is really intense, although the med my doc gave me (Tegretol) seems to keep it from getting too bad.
Websites actually call trigeminal nauralgia "the most painful condition known to medical practice". Untreated, the pain really is so bad, you want to throw yourself out the window. Without treatment, eople actually do commit suicide, it hurts so bad.

Damn that sounds painful. Doesn't GH cause the bones to start growing or is that a myth? A lot of pro bb's have that big overhanging forehead and brow that makes them look like cavemen.
Could be the bones in your face growing and pushing against nerves they shouldn't be?

Fuck dude... sounds bad. Wish I knew what caused it. 
Can't you tell your doctor what you want? I mean, it's your body. I don't know that much about modern medicine, but every doctor I've gone to always tries to downplay it and give me some sort of prescription for something or another. I don't think they want to CURE you, they just want to TREAT you... more money. I don't think all doctors are like that, but I've had some bad expierences... can you tell?

last resort my ass.....if the pain is as unbearable as it usually is, the priority is to get rid of the pain. He shouldnt let it run on for weeks while he tries this and that. He probably doesnt know how to do it since it is an injection to the trigeminal nerve itself, which runs in your face. You need to see an anesthesiologist or pain doc.

How old are you, your bones stop growing usually in your late teens, once the epiphysis (end plates) is sealed your bones can not grow in length or width.

Ask you doctor for a strong pain killer if the pain is that bad. Get something like norco or lorcet or percocet. They should at least dull the pain. If it really hurts that much you should be on an opiate to help you function.Citruscide said:Fuck dude... sounds bad. Wish I knew what caused it.

im pretty sure the bones in your Face CAN grow once your growth plates are sealed due to steroids and GH. it has something to do with cartiledg. Good example is a female body builder doing roids then her face gets all masculine and usee with the cheek bones growing and the chin ect.. I believe arnold had surgery to reduce the size of his chin due to him using steroids..

Caused by infectioin -- I hope!
Now the left side of my jaw has swollen up, as if I'm holding a golfball in my cheek. I'm hoping the neuralgia is a symptom of this infection.
I called the dentist and he immeidiately called in scrips for antibiotic and Vicodin, so now for the first time in days I'm not in agony.
Excuse the typos ... between the Vicodin and the Tegretol I'm getting a lot of double vision and blurring.
Thanks a million for you guys' concern and encouragement! This is the worst thing I've ever been through, but it's better tonight. I just have to pray it goes away with the infection!
Forget the gym the past few days! Just walking to the kitchen was a major workout.
