Diabetic Bodybuilder

Hey guys,

I've been browsing for a few months and really appreciate all the good info Ive gotten here, but now I have a question of my own...

Im 19, 6'0, 190LBS, (~20%BF?), and although I started working out at 15 I just started again a few months ago after a 2 year "break" :o .

So Im a type-1 Diabetic and I have excellent control (pretty much non-diabetic blood glucose numbers). My diet is good, and I consume about 2500 calories a day.

Basically, I figure that since im insulin dependent, and since I have an understanding of how all this works, I will at least use what Ive got, to my advantage. Right now, for anabolic purposes all im taking is 8 IU's of humalog with an N-large shake (52 protein, 88 Carbs).

My question is what else can I take to complement the insulin in order to pack on mass?

What do you guys think about tes?

My only concern is that I want to avoid any unnecesary renal strain on my kidneys as kidney failure is a major diabetic complication. This is what has held me back from using any juice in the past, even creatine.

Please any informed suggestions or suggestions would be appreciated, again im looking to mass right so I can cut up in the spring.

Later guys,

~Rob
:fro:

EDIT: I forgot to mention I also avoid supplements when I am uncertain of their effect on blood sugar. This is why I guess I cant use GH, because it lowers insulin sensitivity...lates~~

Gosh dude I would love to layout a cycle but I would hate for it to effect your state of well being.

IMHO I would say you would be fine with a test cycle.

At 19, I'd say you're a little young to need a test cycle. Or any kind of cycle. If your test levels are normal you're already pumping plenty.

Also, watch that shake. Look for something that not only is light on sugar but carbs as well.

Yea, thing is tho without the carbs id be unable to take insulin post workout. Not sure why I should avoid carbs because as long as you cover them with the right amount of insulin your blood sugar stays normal.. How do you treat your Type-2, insulin or medication?

Diet and exercise. I took meds when I first found out (6 years ago) and used them to get it under control. Now, I refuse to take that shit...

In your case, with the Insulin, I guess the carbs don't matter much. For me, it's a big deal.
