i got these college kids, working at my apartments mail center, i thought u had to be professionally qualified to handle peoples mail. Whats stopping these kids from taking my shit?

Nope the mailroom is basically a distribution center that they themselves established. Some complexes have 50 mailboxes for 50 units others designate a mail room. It's a selling point in large complexes.

Thiefs are thiefs regardless of qualifications so they either are or they aren't but at least there are some seriously strong laws in place to discourage it.

Man the only thing you need to do to work at the post office is pass a piss test. Shit I worked at fedex and could hear medication in the packages rattling around. Only think keeping them from taking a package is the fear of getting caught and the repercussions.

Unless the box is marked "Illegal drugs inside -- Do not open!", the kids have no clue if the box contains drugs or a sweater sent from your grandmother. There are millions of packages being sent all the time -- yours should not stand out.

When it comes down to it, nothing is stopping them. (Although messing with the mail is a federal offence, it's kind of hard to report your steroids being intercepted and stolen en route from the US mail.) But why would they find interest in your package? Why would it stand out from the hundreds of others in that it would temp people to commit a federal crime to possess it's contents?
