deli meat just as bad as packaged?

cranny

New member
Should these meats such as baked ham or smoked turkey be avoided like the pre-packaged meats? What is it about them, salt content? Thanks in advance.

Deli meat isnt as bad as packaged meat because package meats contains nitrates and the last time I read about them they are not good for cutting. It also depends on the meat your getting. Ham usually contains high amounts of sodium because thats what keeps it fresh while it ages. Turkey and beef usually has a lower amount of sodium. Also depends on the flavor you get.. Try to get all natural.

I would avoid deli meats, as a general rule, the more processed the food the worse it is for you. Take the time to cook a turkey breast or thin slice some lean steak for a sandwich, your body will thank you.
