decent results?

would i see any results towards losing body fat quickly and retaining muscle by doing
Monday: 3 mile run
Tuesday Hiit and light weights
Wed: 3 mile run
Thursday: Hiit and light weights
Friday: 3 mile run
Saturday: hiit and light weights

Like what was previously said you are giving us about 1% of the total information. We want to know hight, weight, age, bf%, training experience. What EXACTALLY you plan on eating, exactally what you will do for "light weights" and so on before we tellyou what results you will have.

I can tell you right now light weight training 3 days a week and cardio 6 days a week, you can probably expect at least half the weight you drop to be muscle. More if your diet is really bad.
 
Well I'm 17 and 5 10 and 175...I wanna drop some excess fat b4 xmas with the fam.....I've lifted for like 6 months...minimal results...gonna start a 5x5 january 1st.....anyway I just wanna do this for like a week.....what about 3 miles 3 days and weights the next?....standard lifts just low weight high reps........my main auestion is how can I drop some fat in this period pf time?

Best thing for fat loss with muscle retension is HANDS DOWN lifting heavy 2-4x a week (id recommend 3) and doing either incline walking or HIIT 2-3x a week. The more cardio you do the more muscle you can expect to lose, especially in conjunction with light lifting.

If you are going to over cardio like that make sure you taking in enough calories or you will face even more muscle loss..

Bro, 9 miles of running per week is a sure-fire way to obliterate any muscle you have. It will also make squatting akin to jamming pencils through both eyes.

Although endurance athletes are trim, when you account for the amount of muscular bodyweight they have on average, their bodyfat percentages are jaw-droppingly high.

I've told you before.....at 5'10 and 175, you're NOT fat, it is impossible for anybody to be 'fat' at that size.

Up your protein, cut back on shit carbs and alcohol (if you drink), grow some muscle, and you'll like what you see.

For cardio, HIIT or sprinting works well for athletes. LIGHT bar complexes/olympic lifts work well too. If you want the heart working for longer bursts, try incline walking.
 
Do 30 - 40 minutes of brisk walking very first thing in the morning (before breakfast). Mix that up with some heavy lifting and upping your protein.

So this is for X-Mas??? What is that like 9 days away??? Shit, the only thing you can do at this point would be to stop drinking water. Maybe if you did not drink any water for 9 days you would be "ripped".......lol...J/K. Please don't do that! Your parents will sue me and I'll need BigT to go to court and expain why there son died after not drinking any fluids for over a week...:worried:

If you think you don't look good at 5'10" 175 it's not because you are fat, it's because you don't have enough muscle on your frame. You are pretty young, so that's understandable and is in no way a knock on you. I'm 5'8" and 190 at 29yo, and I don't consider myself "fat". I think I still have about 10lbs to gain before I'm thinking about cutting.

Besides, Christmas is about eating! Use your break from school to shovel the food in and lift heavy. Don't put off until Jan. 1st what you can start today.
 
hey "cynicalasshole" i never said anythinga about ripped...so maybe instead of wasting my time and yours you should pay attention....and i am doing stuff im just not sure if its good for me which is why i ask....i never said ripped, u did. Im starting a 5x5 in the new year and i just wanted to drop maybe a little tiny bit of fat around my neck,face and maybe some on my stomach....idk...just a little bit.....
 
The thing to remember is that there is never any quick fix to altering body composition that doesn't involve merely juggling with the body's water content. You're not going to do anything significant in a shade over a week. I get the impression he's told you this already.

Please restrict your personal attacks to private messages rather than pouring them out on a thread.

I would advise being nicer to the vets.... keep mouthing off and you wont get a single response from anyone... ur better suited to bb.com anyway... you'll find your type of guy there... maybe even a future ex-boyfriend

The answer to your questions is that there is nothing you can do! You don't have the time (9 days) to remove any body fat that's worth while. In fact, I would start eating your mind out before you jump into the 5x5. You will need it. lol at the "drop maybe a little tiny bit of fat around my neck,face and maybe some on my stomach" quote. By the way.......it's your time you are wasting.....not mine...:p
 
You've been getting essentially the same answers to each of the dozen or so threads you've started: namely, that there is no perfect lifting routine or cardio and that the three (now a little more than one) weeks until Christmas is too small a window to see significant changes. As I said before, just pick something, whether it's HIIT, running 3 miles, an assortment of compound lifts, or some combination thereof and stick with and get better at it. Please read madcow's training primer, which can be found through the sticky, so you know what to look for in a program and that any search for a golden program is futile.

Also, not that you would know it since you just joined the site last month, but Anthrax Invasion was (and is, under a different name) a member known for his caustic replies to threads like this. So a "harsh" post preceded by [Anthrax Invasion] is meant to be seen as tongue-in-cheek.
