btw.. since i can't bring myself to sit down and read every work by all the great philosophers.. i went and bought "the story of philosophy" by will durant.. i must say that it was a wise buying decision..

just another note.. this most recent book ordering/reading spree was due to my realization that my education was not quite as balanced as it should be. anywho.. my shrink, a history major undergrad suggest durant "story of civilization" as being the single best work to get a most complete grasp on all of history's most important factors from ancient china to the age of napolean.. they're 10 volumes.. the first two he said to skip. the 1st because it deals with "our oriental heritage" which i guess bears no relevance on our current culture/society, and the second because it deals with the greeks, which can be summed up by plays, city-states, architecture (i think), and some other shit which i can't remember now.. doesn't matter b/c all were expounded upon by the romans... which is the 3rd volume.. which is also where he recommended beginning..

anywho.. just thought i'd share..
