I was wondering if I did the deadlift but, started at my knees and then proceaded to do the dealift would this work the back more? I mean is the upper half of the deadlift mostly back as where the lower half is mostly legs?
would you be using a power rack with the pins set to your knees? Then yes it would work the back more.. I use to do rack deadlifts all the time but my new gym does not have a power rack.
Rack lifts help with lockout if that's your sticking point. Pay close attention to form. Make sure your back is in the same position it would be in at that point in the deadlift. You may do better with some blocks rather than the smith machine.
