deadlifting article

Rounded back pulling, while frowned upon on "bodybuilding boards" is my preferred method of deadlifting, lol. I think it is the most efficient way to activate your 'real world' strength for deadlift carryover, and the reverse is true, it builds real world strength.

If you pull sumo, you won't get much out of pulling with a rounded back for assistance.

As someone who doesn't yet have a good deadlift, but would like to, I found this article interesting. No big secrets, but a good survey of different training methods. Bottom line seemed to be no special Finnish training style, just each lifter picking what worked for him.

BiggT, while no where near your poundages, I'm also relatively stronger on deadlift than squat and find it easier to pull almost straight-legged, sometimes with a little rounding (which I try to avoid, though).

I noted that the article said that most of the straight leg DLs done with rounded back were with lower weight for reps, but some of the Romanian DL poundages were quite high. I'd feel more than pretty good about myself if I could ever do a Romanian DL for 5x727 like Ano Turtiainen.

Oh, well, dream on....
