I am week number two. I had said before that we may be able to push each other on deadlift.mm107 said:wow shades, what week you on on the 5x5? That was my finishing weight yesterday! So damn, looks like were in the same boat.
I agree with tweakle and xblitz, Also, YOU COULD get your ass little lower, but your form is good bro, dont over think this lift. I had tweakle, illuminati, and other big guys critique my form, and the best thing i learned was "Dont think too much about the lift" Your form is always good with light weight, but once you start hitting maxes, etc, your form will suffer, so dont think about it too much. Make sure to explode up and through the heels.
GREAT JOB BRO, made it look easy too

The reason I use the over and under grip is because that is what I am most comfortable with.. I have been using it since sixth grade.
I probably should work on keeping my butt down longer but I sorta just grip it and rip it.
Keep that advice coming!
Race you to 500?mm107 said:damn week 2, nice work bro, im on week 3 at that weight lol DEF CAN PUSH EACH OTHER!
GREAT WORK< GREAT LIFT! like i said you COULD keep it lower, but your form is fine bro.

solarclimax said:Looks like he start's correct with a neutral spine position, but then just before he start's to pull is there a slight rounding of the back that is caused by him raising his hips first ?
mm107 said:Yea, he does, but not enough to worry about. I mean if he was pulling like that with 135lbs, then we could bitch about how he wasnt strict. but at 370lbs his form was good/very good.
I think I hear your five hundred! You flatter me!Sassy69 said:Shades - it still looks just like a warm up set - you one strong mofo! I read thru the above comments & agree - def watch your back on the heavier pulls. Otherwise - continued quality work!
DO I HEAR A FIVE HUNDRED???

Thanks, yeah I am following the 5x5 spreadsheet I have so in 2 more weeks Ill be doing my 5 rep "max" (after one week) of 390. After that there is nothing but weight to add. I want that 500 pretty dang bad.BiggT said:I just caught this thread....form looks fine....again, I agree, if you use straps, ditch the over/under, and one of these days make a mental note to try the hook grip. I agree with Tweakle and Blitz 100% on lowering the last rep.
Don't overthink the deadlift and become a 'form dork'....your pulling form is perfectly fine....just add weight to the bar, and a lot of it, because that was way too easy.
