Dead Lift PR!

Illuminati

New member
there was something strange about today. when i tightened the belt around my waist i felt a sudden rush. it was like a tingling sensation that shot all over my body. my previous PR was 500. that was about 6 weeks ago. i was doing my warm up sets and when i got to 400 it was feeling heavy. then 455 felt heavy. as i was putting on the 500 (previous PR) i was thinking to myself that, judging how all the previous lifts felt, that i would be luck if i got it today. i went to chalk up my hands, and as i tightened the belt on my walk back to the bar, i felt that rush through my body. there was something inside of me that all of a sudden kicked it and told me that i was gonna kill it. i got myself set, and pulled. it came up a lot easier than the 400.
so i loaded up 515. this would be a 15lb jump from my previous PR. but i was feeling good. went through the same steps as the 500, only this time it was in my mind that i would get it. i pictured myself doing the lift over and over in my head. i tightened my belt and i felt that surge again. i knew i would get it. i knew today would be the day that i would make the jump. i knew that people were watching me, but i felt as though i was in my own little room just big enough for me and the bar.
i got myself set and found my marks on the bar. as i started the pull. i could see the bar start to bend, and feel the pressure of the weight. i kept pulling and pulling and then locked it out. it felt great. i didnt want to put the bar down, so i kind of stood there for a second or two.
well, that's my story for today. i went on to attempt 525, but we wont talk about that. sorry for the long story about my PR, but im all psyched up from doing it.

yep..other than the "perception" of the bars height the weight itself was a lot lighter..the pull itself seemed short..i jsut put my feet in normal position hands etc..closed my eyes got down and pulled and before i new it i was locking it out..granted it wasnt a heavy weight but i could feel a difference..i think next week im gonna do reg pulls just to keep in the groove
