David Blaine, WTF????

I caught an hour special on David Blaine before I went to bed last night. WFT???? I've seen his stuff before, but DAMN. Is this somehow the slight of the eye or black magic or what? Anybody else see this? 12 am EST on TLC.

This was stuff you really couldn't explain or see where the slip might have been. I'm not talking about him locking himself in a block of ice or some shit like that. Any moron with enough spare time on his hands can do that. They may die, but they can do it. This wasn't "OOOOOHHHH, give him a round of applause" type tricks, but "OOOOOHHHH, get the f@#k away from me" type stuff. He went to Haiti (where voodoo is their main religion) and freaked out the locals. Its pretty bad stuff when you scare the shit out of a voodoo queen.

Yeah dude, he does do some weird stuff. I think some of his shit, like levitation etc is BS, I would have to see it my self, but some of the simple card stuff seems impossible to figure out. I don't know what is up with it...

Keep in mind till people started spilling the beans on earlier magicians, no one could figure out how they did it either. He probably has just found a better way to skin the cat as they say....


One of my buddies did have an experience with D Blaine type magic before though and it freaked everyone the fuck out. One time, after college he had this party. Being his place he was pretty sober, but there were quite a few people there. Anyways, my buddy lived in this huge loft, you know the type of place where the ceilings were at least 20ft high (the type of loft where the walls only go halfway up)... Anyways, after the party was going for a few hours, this guy he never saw before comes in, and is hanging out, etc. After a bit the dude comes up to my friend, asks if he is the host and tells him thanks for having him and he wanted to show him a card trick. My buddy agrees, so they sit down at a table and the guy does the old "pick a card thing" he has him put the card back in the deck... shuffle etc. Anyway, the guy picks up the top card and goes "is this it?" my buddy says "no" this repeats through the whole deck. After the last card, the guy says, "well where they hell did that card go?" Anyways he looks up and says "there it is!" My buddy looks up, and there is his card, more than 20ft up directly overhead on the ceiling, facing him (so he could see the number and suit)... My buddy and the people watching are all weirded out... There is no way he could have gotten it up there... During the time everyone is talking about it, and freaked out etc, the guy slips out of the place, never to be seen again.

When my buddy moved out, he left the card up there. He was all freaked out and would never let anyone try to touch the card or anything, he was convinced it was some kind of evil shit. It was funny, everytime people would come over, he would tell them about it and the card was always up there...

YES, that's the kinda shit I'm talking about. He did one trick on the show last night where the girl's card, with her name hand written on the card, wound up in an un-opened bottle of beer. HOLLY SHIT!

This aint no rabbit in the hat stuff, this is weird beyond the slight of hand. Some of the card stuff I can understand how it MIGHT be possible, but the levitation and crazy stuff like that I just don't know.

Seeing the show last night prompted me to buy his book this morning. Less than $10, I'm just curious what it has to say. Either way you look at it, the man is an exceptional entertainer.

ya hes great. when i first saw him years ago i had to know how the hell he did some of his tricks. so i searched the net. most of his tricks can be found. but its still great.

he does EXTREMELY good slight of hand. his card tricks are doable, he just has perfected them.. there is always a slip in there where he pulls some shit.. but he does it seemlessly.
