Dancefloor jocks

I went to Algonquin college and studied police foundations. They also told me that they had a 100% placement guarantee. I thought I was going to become a cop for SURE!!! I was certain of it. It is complete BS!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it depends on who gives you the promise.
I went to a recruitment seminar for Peel Regional Police.
They offered to PAY for your college (which gave you the guarantee of getting a job with them after)
You obviously had to pass a screening process to become eligible for their college.

Dancefloor jocks

Back in the day as a young Sheep Nipple I would bring out the cardboard to bust a move! It seems like yesterday when I would pop in my casette of "Breaking" in my Getto Blaster! With my Parachute Pants, Adidas Swede Shoes, and Karate Kid Bandana! I was the breaking King of the Neiborhood! What was my street name you ask? First I was "Turbo" and then I progressed to "Playboy Jr." I carried on my break dancing career, untill I saw "Dirty Dancing" for the first time! No I didnt become a Dirty Dancer! I just relized that Dancing with yourself is really gay! So, I decided to lift weights and Bang Heavy Metal hoes!

Hmm... it seems that the topic was lost - I'll try to reel it back.

Started off a few years ago at clubs with breakdancing... as I got better I started moving towards house dancing (when at superclubs and house/trance clubs) - this is the stuff women love.

And a modified form of pop-locking called liquid-popping (when at breakbeat/tribal/jungle clubs) - this is what earns respect because of its difficulty.

The college that they are sending you to is the Ontario Police College in London ontario. They do not pay for this college anymore. Regardless of your educational background, you still have to attend that college to be a badged police officer in ontario.

I highly doubt that Peel has their own college.

you're right.
that would just be ludicrous if they did.
but they did offer to pay for your college/training,
the seminar was a while's ago tho.
I didn't go for it because you needed a full license (G), I only have a G2.

*in response to this thread*

I can't really describe how I dance, mixture of stepping, up-rock moves (minus arm movements/pure legwork). And I only dance to jungle.
No other music has ever made me move or feel the way jungle does.

I used to breakdance from gr.7-10. Girls loved it when my shirt would fly up and my natural abs would show. Instant ice-breaker.

i was just downloading a collection of old house/dance tracks to make a couple CD's, dancing & playing & downloading.
outthere brothers "put your ass on my face, i like the way your pussy tastes.." haddaway, londonbeat, clivilles/cole, nomad, bks.

usedta dance all night. Never made more than cover charge off me. Now i'm more selective what i dance to... no pop, mainly r&b and house. nothing that's overplayed. I still slide over the floor. :D

right on bigD. I always enjoy watching someone with awesome footwork. I too, am selective at what I dance to. I can't be dancing for no reason, and I can't be dancing to some crap tune. nothing played out either

I dance like a mutha fucka! I  dancing!!! Everyone steps outta my way when I'm on the dance floor!! ;)

I am going to let you in on a little secret:

Before I joined the army.....and before I went to university......I went to Algonquin college and studied police foundations. They also told me that they had a 100% placement guarantee. I thought I was going to become a cop for SURE!!! I was certain of it. It is complete BS!!!!!!!!!! How are you supposed to become a cop when you are 19 or 20?? You have NO life experience!!! Most forces won't even CONSIDER hiring someone until they are at least 23-25. I know the mounties won't hire someone until they have lived on their own for at least 2 years. My college diploma got me JACK SQUAT! I don't even bother telling people about it, I see it now as a waste of time.

I don't want to discourage you in persuing what is obvioulsy your dream, but I also would hate to see you go into this with expectations that are not going to be met. If you want to be a cop, and are serious about it, start volunteering NOW, go to school, and get as many experiences under your belt as possible. College and the militia alone will not let you obtain your goals, I give you my word.

Hope this helps

damn i didnt know that,im glad you told me this,i imagine i should start volunteering now, university will be in the cards i imagine after college
