With all respect (really), age is a number that corresponds with fertility and how much time a person probably has left on this earth. Those are important things. Considering that you're female, however, it is not surprising at all that you prefer older men. Older men are generally better providers and have higher status, yet still produce viable sperm.

I didn't first start going out with my gf of 8months who is 15years older than me for her brain, I did it cause I thought she was hot. Artsy, what do you have to offer a guy 15 yaers older then you? They have careers, they are in the stable part of their life, they know who they are and there isn't muchchange left. You are young, you are just getting on your career path or maybe still in school, you are NOT as experianced with the world and do NOT have what a 30 year old woman would be able to provide them in that aspect. Most women of that ag would make better mothers, better wives, and be able to contribte a whole lot more than a 23 year old just staring out. People, when it comes to long term, go for someone in similar life trajectories, you my dear are a temporary play toy that they can play like a fiddle because you honestly believe they like what you have to offer on a mental leval, sure they like what you have to offer, but on the physical leval, and because it allows hem a trophy to brag about to their buddies, older men are no differant then us, they are sneakier and craftier, they know how to play the game better. It all comes with experiance and age I grew up hanging out with adults, guys in that age range, if you honestly believe otherwise you are living a pipe dream

I agree with most of what you say, dating someone your age will usually find people with more interests like yours. Older guys will most often than not use you cause you are young and brag to their friends.

That being said, I am dating someone 15years older than me - she is 34 and I am almost 20, so almost 15years - but it isn't something I just chose. I would much rather she was younger so the stress from her job wouldn't pass on to me and some other things that come with her being a mother, etc etc ... I love her too much to break up with her for reasons like this, but I certainly never limited myself to this age group.

Your response perturbed me to say the least. One thing I'd like to point out, is the fact that I do have a great deal of life experience, despite what the chronological age of 23 might portray. I have been a mother. I've held my dead child in my arms and said good bye...I rocked her to "sleep". I dealt with her critical illnesses for four months by myself. She was the product of something non consensual to say the least. When you go through an experience like that, doing what other 23 years olds do..simply does not mean much to me. I simply have no interest in hanging out in bars and doing whatever twenty somethings do. ( I don't even know what they do, really. ) Priorities change, thoughts and ideas on life also chance. What do I have to offer? I have my friendship, my companionship, my sense of humor, my take on life, my heart (I have never and will never mistreate or hurt a man's feelings like I hear of on this bored all the time. I simply do not have it in me to be so cruel to someone. I always treat men with respect, as I expect to be treated)..all the same things women their age would offer. Despite my life experiences, I enjoy life and independence terrifically. When asking whether I have anything in common with them..I think it's important to look at the woman on a case by case basis. Twenty three isn't always 23. I simply am not, and never really have been, attracted to men my age due to vast differences in maturity levels. Hence, I got back to the "show your tits" comment, I found that incredibly childish..it indicated to me that they were unable to communicate with a woman without thinking of her sexuality. I laughed, but was also a bit offended that that was all they cared of my thoughts. I tend to indentify this trait with youth. This is all I'm going to say. But..thinking about it from a biological point of view, in any species, the females choose the males with the highest chance of survival..hence, old age (they've lived the longest) or great physical fitness are all seen as desirable traits..also gives an explanation for women's attraction to men who are financially stable. They can all provide for the offspring most easily.

The bars I go to, there are more people over 35 than anyone else. I think the bars you talk about that younger guys go to are club/bars ...

I really find the mindset among people that think they are "special" just cause they went through something most others didn't funny. So what? Everyone has hard times, but these days every joe and nancy think they are so different from others they deserve a cookie.

ok this may be true with animals because only the stronger survive and if you dont have good genes you dont survive...this would ensure the survival of your offspring...however with humans ppl look after eachother this means anyone should be able to make it into old age...

so the only real benifit to hooking up only with older guys would either be money or social status...
