my aunt is doing locks of love. I will see what I can find out about another simular charity.

Locks for love is a great organization. My daughters hair goes like grass. When it was waist long she donated it, and is going to do it again this summer. They will style it for free after the cut. Beware some shops will not take hair that has been chemically treated. I dont know if there are other organizations that participate in this gift program.

We did this with my oldest daughter's hair when she BEGGED me to have it short like her friends. LOL In a week she wanted it back. Couldnt donate it the second time she HAD to chop it off though as her father destroyed it with dying chemicals.
