My laptop just crashed and I lost the past 6 hours of work on it sjkaghnaskjfghksnajkcvn asgjkastoshoweth289456yb10-5871`-yutg9234th 9o24

I printed the tables out awhile back, that is all I really lost. Well anything I changed in the tables since I last printed them. It's hard to dream up a good cash flow statement, income statement, sales forecast, personnel, and balance sheet.

Last time the damn thing screwed up when I saved it to disc and harddrive and I lost all my numbers. So I was not saving and printed out the tables once in awhile:bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

Ouch, makes you want to punch a hole in your wall doesn't it

Makes me want to throw this 1500 dollar calculator against the wall.

Gonna take about 3 hours to restraighten out. I hope thats it.

You seriously need a break.....

Just take ONE day off...you might just go insane

I have 12 days left till graduation. 1 week till I hafta give a 30 minute presentation on this. Finals next week, 2 presentations & 3 test this week. DEMMIT DEMMIT DEMMIT. I was done, I was about to print it DEMMIT DEMMIT DEMMIT.

Getting it back together but the charts I printed did not include the monthly totals for the first year, only the yearly totals.

UGGGGHHHH

thanx, threw some back at ya. I am about 75% to where I was before. Damn this just sux, it is the second time this program has messed up. I oughta call the company. Ohhh, hang on, it's bootleg, forget that.

FBD...this is actually a very good real world lesson for you. No kidding. Hit that save button about every five to ten minutes depending on the volume of changes and the importance of your work.

I am sorry to here this happened. We had a power outage two weeks ago that lasted 5 seconds. I lost 2 weeks worth of data analysis and my co-hort in crime lost 6 weeks of data.

I wanted to go kill an engineer since the backup system was suppose to be full-proof, tested...blah blah...but such is life.

Wodin.

Man, I did that Friday morning, lost all my numbers. When I saved it on zip drive and hard drive it looked find, took it to this puter (home) and it printed out ##value## in a bunch of the forrmula cells. They are excell based. When I printed the charts out before then it didn't happen. When I opened it up it was like that in both places I saved. So I decided not to save and print it out, take to Kinko's have five sets bound, and be done with the writing part of the project. Backfired.

I am now done with it took about 2 1/2 hours. Luckily I printed out periodically while I was playing with numbers to get my mock-up companies financials to jive.

Do you have a series of files linked to base data file?

That might cause your value errror.

It is a program for developing a business plan. Contains about 8 excel sheets that are linked together to make the financial info entering simple. It really is awesome, but one hell of a headache now.

I would put money on it that your problem is due to a central data source. You more than likely need that file open first and then you can open your associated link files to update the links under any new directory. If not then the report files are going to look to the hard drive for the links in the preset directories that were setup by the designer.
