damn broke computer

it is so slow nowadays. It takes 15 minutes to get on EF. I keep getting a Lexplore not responding message, the the page shuts down. Give me some advice please.

Well what have you done so far to try and fix it?
I'm gonna run though some basic stuff so I apologize in advanced if your computer savy

What type of computer do you have?


Have you tried deleting all cookies and temp internet files?
Have you defragged lately?
Have you ran any sort of spyware detection software?

Formatted your Hardrive lately?

yes to all, except for defragging. What is it?

defragging just reorganizes your files so that the HD doesn't have to take so long seeking it. But if you have formatted lately, there shouldn't be a reason to defrag since everything was wiped.

Man other than that stuff, I have no clue what it could be. Maybe try updating or upgrading the version of IE. You could also try downloading Mozilla Firefox or Opera web brwsers to see if if works fine. If it does, you know it's an IE problem

I am having a computer person come over and work on it. I m frustrated. I think it might cost $250 or so. If it is more, I will buy a new tower
