I started working out on June 7 this year after a 10 year absence from the gym. I've been taking 15-20mg of Dbol daily. I started at 5'9", 175 lbs. @ a pathetic 28% body fat. I had the "skinny fat" body. Now I'm 190 lbs. @ a more sensible 18% body fat. Body fat was measured in a Bod Pod. My upper abs are starting to barely show. I now have a little bit of vascularity in my arms. My arms went from 14" to 16". Bench press went from 125 lbs. to 275 lbs. I had about 17 years of training when I was younger and competed in power lifting. I'm wondering how much was from muscle memory and how much was the dbol. I'm also diabetic and my sugar levels have decreased greatly.
 
I don't know if there'd be really any muscle memory 10 years down the road. Would be interesting if someone had proof that it could.

Muscle memory is a relatively new concept (think it was "solved" around 2010) - and you're right, who knows how long it lasts. I'd be interested to see some long-term studies on this, but it could be a while. Based on gorilla's results, a 150-pound bench increase since June, it definitely seems like something with muscle memory is going on here.
 
I did some research on this. It looks like strength training permanently changes muscle cells by adding new nuclei to the cell. Most living tissue cells only have one nucleus but muscle cells have multiple nuclei. When you stop training, the muscle shrinks but the extra nuclei remain indefinitely. My best lifts in my younger days were a 551 lb. squat, 402 lb. bench, and 501 deadlift in the 198 lb. weight class. I did that at age 28. I'm 42 now. I'm not sure if my joints could handle those weights again. One of the reasons I stopped training was because I tore both of my rotator cuffs. I came back after the first surgery but the second one kind of killed my powerlifting career.
 
Nice find! You probably have a lot of extra nuclei then from those big lifts you were doing before. No wonder you've been able to boost your bench so quickly in like 3-4 months.
