Cycle & Emotional Problems

scruples

New member
am into my 4th week of 500mg test enan/week... was taking 1.25mg letrozole EOD, but stopped due to concerns that it was not necessary on a relatively light cycle...

here is the question: i have always suffered from depression to some degree or another, and recent events in my life have made that depression worse... these events occurred prior to me starting my cycle... i had hoped that i might actually feel better on cycle, but it seems that i've gotten even worse, possibly even more so after stopping the letrozole... i am going to see the cycle through and finish the 10 weeks... i am strongly considering getting on some meds to improve my condition... BUT, do you think that restarting the letrozole at a higher dosage (1.25mg ED) might help? i really don't want to take anti-depression meds, but i am getting desperate... all i want to do is lie in bed all day....

thanks all

Well, there isn't any quick fix for this. Getting back on the meds is important, but it will only be the foundation of your emotional health.

If you are seeing a shrink or a psychiatrist, it is really important that you tell them about your cycle, because steroids can greatly impact your mood. Just keep talking about your feelings, so you have a better understanding of your life. You are going to need to monitor this very carefully when you come off the cycle, because you could easily become depressed or addicted to steroids.

Also, do you have a diagnosis? You seem to have the symptoms of depression... but if depression meds don't work for you, then you might have a mood disorder ie: bipolar. The only way to be sure is by monitoring your moods.

If you experience "highs", like feeling really damn great when you work out or go out with friends, but then swing into a "low" like not being able to get out of bed, you may be bipolar. In this case, you will need different meds than what you are taking.

Good luck!
