merry christmas to everyone ! have a great new year too !
i have a couple of custom's question. i hope i can get an answer from ya'll who might have had a similar experence.
1) if a bro recieves a custom's letter stating that :
" the records of this office indicate that you might have an interest in certain property seized by the us customs on ( date ). the property was seized under the provision of 19usc1595a(c)(importations contrary to law ) for violation of title 21, UScode, sec. 952, ( unlawful importation of controlled sibstances) & 21usc381 "
" under the provisions of title 19, US code, section 1618, you may petition for relief from the above liability. the enclosed notice of information for claimants explains your optuions w/ regards to the remission of the forfeiture & possible return to you of the seized property. if you decide to petition for relife, you must check the first box on th eenclosed election of proceeding/waiver form indicating that you wish this office to consider your petition administrativly. checking the second or third box indicates that you desire customs to begin appropriate forfeiture proceedings. no matter which box you check, you must also sign & return the form."
what should one do ? check a box sign & return or ignor the letter & trash it ?
2) has anyone recieved from abroad at the same address after recieving a seizure notice ?
thanks
