Crysis 2 multiplayer footage

The action looks and sounds pretty tight. Getting tired of seeing an Xbox controller being used for a shooter, especially in MP. I want to see this game opened up and allowed to stretch its wings a bit with kb/mouse controls. I'm hoping they campaign gameplay hasn't completely been gutted though. From what I've seen so far it looks like it has a bit of consolitis.

I'm so glad I dont work in the gaming industry anymore, this thing on PC will be a headache if launched...

Why do you see console biases? Is it because of the poor tracking of a person while they are running (something that is relatively easy to do with a mouse / kb combo) or something else?

Shooters can be very playable on console with a gamepad but kb/mouse is generally quicker and more accurate. The first PC exclusive game was great for sandbox gameplay but it doesn't look like this one will have much of that. Consoles are generally more stable game machines because they're all the same but the tradeoff is performance isn't upgradable, which often means less features for games because developers have to cut corners/squeeze as much out of the given hardware. PC's have technically unlimited headroom for performance.

I like both console and PC but certain games I think are better meant for one or the other. Or at least develop the PC version as good as it can be and then do the console one. PC fanboys hate it when their version is compromised to accommodate the aging consoles.

But a Nvidia 260 GTX 3 way SLI couldn't handle Crysis at max capacity, hope this one inst such a bitch to play well on.....

Unless you were playing on a 30" monitor a single 260 should've yielded playable framerates. The game's power hungry but certainly within reach especially these days. Anyways Crytek themselves admitted they didn't design it to be maxed out day one. It's scalable enough that a few years from now it'll still look good next to whatever 1st gen PS4/720 games launch. The current consoles still can't touch it.

These days it's as easy to hook up an HDMI ready PC to the TV as a console. I've had mine out for gaming but was also convenient for get togethers when someone wanted to watch something on youtube or make a pandora playlist. The part that sucks is ideally you need a separate PC for that or else deal with hauling it back and forth. PS3 is good enough there for the time being.

then buy a gaming laptop with HDMI output, plug to TV and voila!!!

I have wii with 500 games and people are always coming over to eat, drink beers and play wii on my big screen and surround sound all night. Great bonding device.

Who says you need to use a kb/mouse! Also as your guests wouldn't they dig it more if you busted out at least a PS3/360 to take advantage of that big screen/ss?

i have chicks over and they're not big fan of xbox/ps3 games. They like cute farmville type stupid wii games. I haven't found one chick here less than 200lbs who wants to join me on 2-player modern warfare 2. Play on the airport map, deathmatch.

Chicks go figure.
