critique my diet pleas

I have been posting my journal for about a week and a half. ;) but nobody ever comments on my diet, I need to know any ideas I can get to better it. I have some obsticles due to where I am at, but as long as I know what I should fix, I can attempt to, but if I dont know, I can't even try. So please anyone that can help, please make all the comments you got. This is a sample of my diet from 8 july till 12 july, I keep track of just about everything I eat every day, and the rest of it is posted on my journal:



meals:
July 8
meal 1:
2 scambled eggs, 2 HB eggs, 1 sccop rice, 1 milk, 1 juice
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 3:
MRE Pasta and vegetables (nutrition 23 protein, 70 carbs, 25 fat)
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 5:
MRE Chicken with noodles with cheese, and fig bar (nutrition 37 p, 64 c, 29f)
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk

meals:
July 9
meal 1:
2 scambled eggs, 3 HB eggs, 1 sccop rice, 1 cup water
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 3:
1 steak, 1 scoop rice, 1 serving of mixed vegetables
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 5:
2 pieces of baked fish, 1 scoop rice, 1 milk
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk

July 10
meal 1:
2 scambled eggs, 2 HB eggs, 1 sccop rice, 1 milk
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 3:
MRE turkey breast, sports bar, crackers and peanutbutter (nutrition 61 p, 81 c, 33 f)
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 5:
2 pieces of turkey, 1 chicken cordon bleu (spoiled myself), 1 serv carrots cooked, 1 milk
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk

july 11
meal 1:
1 piece of chicken baked 2 scambled eggs, 2 HB eggs, 1 sccop rice, 1 milk 1 juice
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 3:
1 piece of baked fish, 1 scoop vegetables, 1 scoop rice, 1 milk, 1 glass of tea
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 5:
1 lg steak, 2 pieces of chicken breast, 1 scoop pasta
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk

july 12
meal 1:
bowl of cheerios, bowl of rice chex, and 2 ham and cheese crossaintwiches
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 3:
chicken fried steak, scoop rice, and 1 diet sprite
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk
meal 5:
2 sandwiches (lettuce, tomatoe, mayo, ham, roast beef, cheese)
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk


here is my daily schedule:
wake up around 6 am
eat meal 1 around 7 am solid food
go to work from 8am till 8pm
eat meal 2 around 930 shake
eat meal 3 around 1200 solid food
eat meal 4 around 1500 shake
eat meal 5 around 1730 solid food
go to gym at 830 pm
meal 6 post work out around 1000 shake
go to bed around 1100 pm

note: I now also eat a pack of dry oatmeal with meals 2 and 4

have checked out a few web sites for serving amounts, and they were not that helpful, so anymore would help me out. Good thing is that MRE's have nutrional value posted on them, so I always have that info. I also have to guess what the serving looks like at the D-fac, cuz they just kinda throw it on the plate :p ...looking forward to suggestions, thanks again

July 21
meal 1:
2 cheese omelets, 3 HB eggs, 1 scoop rice, 1milk, 1 v-8
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk with 1 serv of dry oatmeal
meal 3:
cornish hen, green beans, potatoes, rice, 2 cups tea
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk, 1 serv dry oatmeal
meal 5:
chicken tenderloins, pasta, broccoli, 1 milk, 1/2 can of diet sprite
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk


july 22
meals:

meal 1:
slept in and missed breakfast, was not happy...damn melatonin
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk, and a pack of oatmeal
meal 3:
chicken curry, green beans, italian pasta, 1 milk, 2 cups tea
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk, pack of oatmeal
meal 5:
rotaissary chicken, rice pilaf, green beans, 2 milk, 1 mixed juice
meal 6:
Casein protein shake 1 sccop with 16 oz of milk




july 23
meal 1:
ham cheese, and tomatoe omellet, rice, 3 hb eggs, 1 milk, 1 v-8
meal 2:
protein shake 2 scoops with about 14 oz of milk, pack of oatmeal
meal 3:
salsbury steak, 3 pieces of shrimp, rice, mixed stir fry vegetables, 1 milk
meal 4:
Protein shake 2 sccops with about 14 oz of milk, pack of oatmeal
meal 5:
baked parmesaien fish, fried rice, green beans, 2 milk


NOW help me out guys, any suggestions, comments, anything!!
 
You never listed your goals w/this "diet".

You have a ton of carbs in here, they are mixed with fats, milk everywhere, fried foods, etc., so I assume you aren't cutting. If you are, good luck.

No, I am not cutting I am on a pure bulk diet, trying to gain mass, wont try to lean for awhile. fried foods are due to no other selection, or I would much rather have a baked version. I try to drink alot of milk, I have never been told that is not good...is it? I am trying to maintain a high calorie diet, and trying to keep it as balanced as possible. so any help is much appreciated.

OK, so do you mean drop it all together, or is it ok with a shake or two? and how much protein shakes should I drink, I am already drinking 3 a day, and two of them are double scoops?? thanks for your help, I really apprecaite it

Yes I mean drop the milk period....

The protein really depends on you, I suggest just adding enough to replace the milk proteins and a bit extra -10%.

Alright, out goes the millk, and I will figure out something to replace it, dont know if I can stand drinking more shakes then I already do, so I will try stronger shakes! bad thing is that I bought vanilla weigh protein, becuase there is an overabundance of flavor milk here, so I use that for flavor, but I will manage, thanks again...all help is much appreciated
 
Edit I actually drink 2-5 Liters, not quarts, sorry

also I need a better understanding on why skim milk is so bad in a diet even if your bulking, not trying to argue, just dont understand it to well...thanks again
 
with your 12 hour shifts in iraq im not sure your eating enough.
maybe you are but i eat that amount and i dont even work, i just lay about all day until its time to train.

someone correct me if this isnt good advice, but could you replace at least some of that milk with soy milk, and if you are using an easily mixable protein then maybe substitute the milk in the shakes for water. im not using protein at the moment but when i have i would have my morning shake with skim milk and have my post workour one mixed with water. if the whey doesnt taste too bad the water is fine with it. anyway, just a thought. i'd be interested for myself if someone could comment on the soy alternative?? good luck bro

OK, a bit confused now, but let me get this,

while bulking it is ok to drink a little bit of milk, say 18oz of 1 or 2% would be ok?

but while cutting, eliminate all together, right!

Diet NOTE

I cant control what exactly they will serve each day, with the exceptions of eggs in the morning and tuna at lunch or dinner, so....

plan
Breakfast 7am
5 HB eggs, 2 egg omellete(cheese), 2 serv oatmeal (dry instant) I know instant oatmeal isnt that good, but its the only thing, so I work with what I got
snack 930 am
1 can (about) plain tuna, 1 scoop protein whey, 1 serv oatmeal
lunch 1200
either baked chicken, baked fish, or 2 cans(about) dry tuna, plain rice, green vegetable (beans, or broccoli)
snack 1500
1 can (about) plain tuna, 1 scoop protein whey, 1 serv oatmeal
dinner 1800
either baked chiecken, baked fish, or 2 cans(about) plain tuna, plain rice, green vegetable
pre work out 2000
1 bannana
post work out 2230
protein shake 2 scoops protein, 2 pack PB (about 4 serv I think), about 4 oz of choc skim milk, and about 20grms of dextrose

This is about the best I can do about trying to control what I eat, I figured with this approach, I should always be able to get this type of food. I am going to try to stay away from all red meat, and anything else. I only drink water, unsweetened tea, or a cup of gatorade (one a day at most). I was drinking a cup of juice in the morn for breakfast, but decided to cut that out all together...
 
friday

meal one (9am)
4 HB eggs, 2 eggs, dry oatmeal
meal two (11am)
Protein shake 2 scoops, 2 packs of PB (4 serv), 4 oz of choc skim milk
nap from 1130-1pm
meal 3 (1pm)
about 2 cans of tuna,
meal 4 (3pm)
about 2 cans of tuna
meal 5 (5pm)
about 3 cans of tuna
meal 6 pre work out (7pm)
shake, half bannana, 2 sccops protein, 4 oz of straw milk
Meal 7 post work out (11 pm)
shake 2 scoops of protein, 2 packs of PB (about 4 serv), 4 oz of choc skim milk

didnt have work today, that is why so much tuna, cuz I didnt go to chow, relaxed in my tent almost all day, and tuna was all I had, I am staying away from the MRE's cuz it is mainly just reprocessed food, and trying to eat better

last night I kept forcing myself to eat and eat, I want to put on another 10lbs in the next 4 months meals went like this:

Breakfast
5 HB Eggs, 2 eggs, pack oatmeal
10 am meal
5 HB eggs,
lunch
baked fish, white rice, lettuce and tomatoes
2 pm meal
2 cans tuna and oatmeal
4 pm meal
2 cans tuna
dinner
baked chicken, lasagne, white rice, green beans
pre work out meal
2 PB and honey sandwiches
post work out meal
missed it

I didnt get to eat a post work out meal do to an attack right when I got done with the gym, didnt get back to my tent till after 1130 pm. the PB and honey sandwiches gave me alot of energey. I felt pretty good even though I dont usually eat that much. also for dinner I only ate the lasagne as an incentive to eat everything else on my plate first, I know sounds pretty stupid, but damn it felt good to eat that much,a nd damn it tasted good to eat something with some flavor finally ;)

nothin really exciting bro, just multiple mortar attacks, we rarely get hit with any kinda direct fire, they cant stand up for that, it is mainly just mortars and rockets!!!!
 
8/12/04

I had 24 hour duty that night, so I was up from 7am till 730 am the next day. I figured while I was awake I would try to eat myself stupid!!!! Of course try to keep it as clean as possible...here it is

8am Breakfast
2 egg omelet
5 HB egg whites
1 pack oatmeal

10am snack
5 HB egg whites
1 pack oatmeal

12noon lunch
baked fish
white rice
green beans

2PM
2 cans tuna

4pm
1 1/2 cans tuna
1 pack oatmeal

7PM
3 pieces boneless chicken breast
white rice
brocolli

9pm
1 piece of chicken breast
1 can tuna

11pm
protein shake special ;)
2 scoops protein mix, 4oz skim milk, 1 tray of ice, 1 serv choc syrup, 1 tblsp flax oil, 3 serv PB, and the real dinger 6 yes six shots of espresso!!!!!!!!
I think you can guess it was to help me stay awake, it worked ;)

1am
2 pieces of chicken breast

3am
1 piece of chicken breast
1 can tuna

5am
2 cans of tuna

7am
6 HB egg whites

the funny thing is after I ate all this food, I didnt really feel all that bloated, I only took a small shit at about 430 am, but nothing big. I also drank alot of water all night..I know I didnt eat to many carbs at all, but that is cuz I had to sit around all night, and didnt want it to just sit not to mention, cold rice doesnt taste as good as chicken breast...lol
 
monday 8/17/04

another day of the same ol food, good thing it doesnt bother me to much

meal 1: 8am 4 egg white, 2 egg omellete, pack of oatmeal
meal 2: 10am 5 egg whites, pack of oatmeal
meal 3:12 baked chiecken, a bite of nasty mashed potatoes, mixed veggies
meal 4:2pm 1 can tuna, oatmeal
meal 5:4 pm 1 can tuna
meal 6:6 pm 2 big ass pieces of chicken, rice, brocolli
meal 7: prework out missed it!!! got to busy at work!! :(
meal 8:postwork out shake, 4 scoops PB, 2 scoops casein protein, 1 serv granola, 4 oz of 2% milk

the granola was awesome!! I really loved it, and it has 45grams of carbs (11sugar, 4 fiber) and 5 grams protein! and it tastes awesome!!! deffinatly going to get more of it
