Critique Diet for Cutting

Meal 2 Chicken Breast 25/0/3 127
Oatmeal 10/50/4 276

Meal 3 Peanut Butter Toast 10/18/16 256
Tuna 32/0/2.5 150.5

Meal 4 Meal Replacement Bar 29/20/6 250

Meal 5 Apple 0/25/0/ 100
Whey Protein 42/8/6 254

Meal 6 Tuna Salad 32/5/2.5 170.5

Meal 7 Chicken Breast 25/0/3 127
Green Beans 4/14/0 72

Total Cals ~1900 with 241g Pro/140g Carbs/ 45.5g Fat

I have been trying to stick to this but recently I found a post on here for home made protein bars made with PB, Honey, Rice Crispies and Protein powder and have kinda over eaten on them
:rolleyes: But this is what I aim for and I AM going to stick to it starting from today till I am happy.

Stats: 21 yrs old 6'0" ~205@14-16%bf goal is to get to 190+ @8%

Anybody with knowledge of Diets that is willing to help me change this to see results, I am more than happy to listen

i would definitely reccoment that you up the cals some more to around waht p60 said, that amount will meet your requirements much better in preserving muscle. also the diet and ratios of pro/carbs/ fats look great to me. the only thing you might consider changing is how people are real strict on not eating breads or fruit when cutting, you have some better choices you could put in there such as brown rice, i think the fruit and bread is fine like every third day or osmething for variety. other than that it looks great to me!
 
I'd cut out the apple and green beans- the rest is ok
I can cut out the apple but I like the green beans...They are canned but only have 30mg of sodium total and they give me fiber and help fill me up without too many calories...unless there is a reason that they are bad for me that I dont know about??

I thought that 12xBW was for maintaining and 10xBW was for cutting....I will try to up it to 1900-2400 and try to change it up between that range to keep my metabolism from slowing to much. Does that sound OK?...if not, ill try aiming for 22-2400 and see how that goes...

you have some better choices you could put in there such as brown rice,

Yeah I know...I am in college and its easier to just make a sandwich with 100% whole wheat bread and take it to eat on campus. but i know that getting down to 8% wont be a walk in the park. I have alot of 100% whole wheat pasta, would that work as well as brown rice? (I will get some brown rice next trip to the grocery store)

damn!!! I got like 3 big bags of whole wheat pasta sitting on the shelf...lol, guess they will have to wait a while before they are eaten. I really like oatmeal-I add in a little aspartame and cinnamon for taste but if this is bad, I can go back to eating it plain... If oatmeal is the best choice then I know it might get old fast but I would rather just eat alot of oatmeal than rice (I never really cared for it) Would that work?

What I do to give oatmeal flavor and tastes pretty good is use flavor protein powder in it. I also will use a little bit of cinnamon and also aspartame too.
 
6PM - Good Call on the protein powder in the oatmeal...I need about 100 or so extra cals, i was trying to figure out where I could add them

these are just reccomendations that would make it better, but u dont need to follow every detail you are stilll going to get great results if you eat pasta instead of buying rice as long as the carb counts are the same.
 
Diet looks great man. Similar to my cutting diet, except I take in a few less cals, but the percentage looks about exactly as I take in. You'll see great results from it.

Thanks, I will probably go down in cals but figure that I will try 2400 for a couple weeks and then change from there if I need too.
 
I do see one adjustment that could be made.

**I didn't notice you taking any flaxseed oil, I'd add a tbsp of flax to this meal right here**
 
Is ALA the same as flax ?( I mean, is that the part of flax that is good for you) if it is, I forgot to mention I will be taking 600mg of ALA a day.
