Yes ... this is true. I lived through the age where every band had a Beetle haircut or a perm.

I do enjoy Fohgerty's (sp) single music. He is a fun head case and has put out out some great stuff.
 
I think rap, & maybe Blues, are the only gendres where street cred is a necessity.
Back when CCR was on top, and with rock bands today, they sing to their audience. Because their aaudiences are much larger they have a wider variety of music subjects available.

i disagree bor...i liked them cause of their supposedly authentic southern twang sound...if i found out mobb deep was from gaylord i would hate them too...if they roots don't match the genre i don't dig

Where were the Fogerty brothers' parents from? No one is originally "from" California, they all went there from somewhere else, mostly during the depression.
