Creatine while bulking or cutting?

Im going to start using creatine. If my plans go according to schedule, I will be bulking for about 2 more months, than start cutting. When should I start the creatine? I was thinking maybe when cutting, to keep me from losing too much muscle, but would I be better off starting it now (while I am still bulking, but getting ready to cut) or should I hold off until I start bulking again (after I cut). BTW I am 17 if that has anything to do with it.

Technically, you can do creatine while bulking or cutting. But I think most prefer to take it while bulking for two reasons: One, when you're bulking, you're less concerned with the water retention that always accompanies creatine. Secondly, I think the creatine works better on a bulking type diet. Plus, you're gonna sacrifice some muscle regardless when you start cutting. So I think you should take it when you get the most out of it.

You will probably not get the ripped look while on creatine. Creatine hydrates the muscle from the inside but some people will retain water outside as well... so you will loose definition. Stay away from creatine while cutting...
 
Thanks guys. One more question, should I take it while I am bulking now (if I plan to cut soon; about 2 mo) or wait until I have finished cutting and started bulking again? I dont plan on cutting for too long because I am only at 165ish now.

Since you have got a good 8 weeks before cutting I would definatly use the creatine, just to get the most out of your bulking cycle. After cutting (I assume 4-8w) would be enough time off and a good idea to use it again.
 
I agree w/gymtime, you can use creatine anytime. IMO you should strat now. no, i'm not new to these boards, just a diff user name
