Creatine is a
compound which is made up of the 3 amino acids (arginine, glycine and methionine). You will not see them listed as individual components on creatine supplements just as you won't see methyl guanidine-acetic acid listed, the chemical name for creatine. You may also see creatine listed as one of the following:
- Creatine Monohydrate
- CEM3 (creatine ethyl ester malate)
- 2CM (diCreatine malate)
- CHMB (creatine HMB)
- CM2 (creatine ethyl ester HCI)
- TriCreatine (blend of mono & di creatine salts 3:1)
- CVT (cell volumising technology)
- Tricreatine-Fusion (Dicreatine-Malate, Monocreatine-Malate, Creatine Anhydrous)
- CEE (creatine ethyl ester HCI)
- Creatine Anhydrous
- Monocreatine Malate
- Dicreatine Malate
- Creatine alpha-ketoglutarate
Back to your question swaptrex:
A condition of hyperhydration would only exist if there was a pre-existing problem with your kidneys. The symptoms are very similar to that of dehydration, and so this would not be what you are experiencing.
When creatine is stored within the body, it is as creatine phosphate or phosphocreatine. Phosphates can have an effect on the thyroid gland by ensuring that thyroxine levels do not decrease. Since the thyroid gland is directly associated with your body's overall metabolism and since you are experiencing unexplained sweating and heart irregularities, I would suggest this as the cause, as your symptoms have appeared during the loading stage when phosphate levels would be at or approaching their highest level.
This is an unexpected reaction which you have had and may indicate that your thyroxine levels may have already been at an elevated level prior to using the creatine. You should discontinue using the product and monitor your condition. If you still feel unwell after a short time, then you may want to consult with a physician and have your
creatinine levels checked as elevated levels can be an indication of hyperthyroidism, If you are tested, make sure that you note the days on which you used creatine and when you discontinued its use so that the test results are accurate.
