Creatine before rugby?

My friend is wondering if it would be a good idea or if there are any benefits from taking creatine monohydrate before a rugby match. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Test it out, no risk in doing so.

The timing before a match doesn't make a difference. Just take creatine mono daily to keep it saturated in your muscle cells

I played rugby regularly for 13 years. Still play occasionally. I think creatine helps some with lifting in line outs, driving in the pack/scrum downs, sprinting (fast twitch muscle activity).
But won’t help if it’s just a one time use before a match. It would be best to use it leading up to the match during regular lifting and training sessions.
I’d often cycle on it during the season and off during the off season.
