Crazy Ply Shirts

Single ply, double ply, triple ply, denim, canvas, polyester, etc.

Just a thought on how far shirts have come and how far they might go.

Is today's loosest polyester actually tighter than tightest polyester from , let's say, 5 years ago?

Or is today's tightest polyester actually tighter than most denims from yesterday?

If shirts keep getting tighter, will today's shirts be as tight as those 5 years from now? Most likely not.

Just some interesting thoughts. It's amazing how far equipment has progressed.

Ok...all I can talk about is denim because that is all I know. I started out with a double denim and that is all I have ever used. Personally, I don't see much of a difference in the actual design of the shirt in the last several years. The tightness that you speak of is the way lifters are wearing them now. They are looking for an edge, just like any athlete would...within the rules.

Bottom line is that if you don't work the muscles that compliment shirted lifting you won't progress. You can only buy a tighter shirt for so long...eventually as it always does, it all comes back to hard work.

Maybe a misunderstanding. I'm not exactly commenting about the tight fit of a shirt, but more about the tight threads or materials used today. There's a clear difference in how for polyesters have come. Just compare Inzer's crap to Titans NXG+ material.

lol at inzers crap, i wouldnt wipe my ass with that polyester. ive seen the poly on the boss suits and it seems much tougher and more durable, and so is the material frantz uses. i agree polyesters have come along way. and with the denim, i have two denim shirts, and i can tell a difference between the denim on both shirts, one feels much stronger and tougher than the other. as far is inzers denims shirts, they are good if you get the right material(provided is doesnt blow out) ive seen few different denims from them. i dont have any experiance with canvas so ill leave that alone.

as far as shirts getting tighter, i think if your gear is too tight, or you have too much gear on its counter productive. theres a fine line with the shirts, i dont think anyone should wear gear so tight that they are not strong enough to handle the wieght it would allow them to lift.
