Went to St Valentines day Massacre in Boerne. We get to the fair grounds around 8:30 Valentines night. We(me and my ole lady) just go through the registration tent then they direct us left down this asphalt road. Well all of sudden my back tire skids to the left and we get totally sideways I correct that but then we went totally sideways the other way for about 10 feet. Couldn't hold that one and then we go down my wife flew in front of the bike and I went down with it.
People came over immediately to help me pick up the bike and though I am Christian I have to admit I cussed a few times. Since I saw my ole lady getting up I go immediately to the bike to see how messed up it was. All the billeted forward controls were broken off and a big gash in the tank. Then I go to check on my wife. I know I should have checked her first but my instinct from motorcross in my younger days kicked which meant you check your bike before you check anything because you figure you heal the bike don't.
The ambulance(sp) checked us both out and wanted to take her to the doctor because she was sweating(i think from the shock of crashing). She says no I am ok so we proceeded to get some from some very cool people and had a plan to get some make shift parts and machining done the next morning and we finally get the bike running by 1:30 only to find out I only had 1st and 2nd gear( the wreck screwed my transmission too)
So I entered my bike in the bike show and put a piece of paper on the bars that said "went down last night in some slick ass mud have mercy thanks." And look at the results and 8 that night and low and behold got 1st place in the exotic class. Which came with a hundred bucks and a plaque. So I figured the hundred bucks paid for my expense to get the bike fixed to enter it in the show and I got a plaque to remember the worst valentines day in my life. But you got to look at the possitives right?
I am guess there is about 7k worth of damage to my scoot. And now I have to wait three weeks till I can ride again. And I will NEVER let that bike touch MUD AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE MUD
