my test crashed i tried heating it in hot water and 20gage needle in the top and all the cristles just fall to the bottom do i need to boil it if yes how long also will it blow up

Happened to me, just use a hairdryer for a good 5-10 mins those damn things are hot!

Instead of putting it in hot water, try oven baking the bottle at about 170-180(F) for about 20minutes 2-3 times, with 20minutes cooling periods in between. Put a pin into the rubber stopper so the pressure doesn't build too high.
