Cost of Lasik

Does anyone know right around how much good Lasik costs these days?

I keep hearing differing opinions on the cost raning from $1,000 to $2,500. Of course, i want something safe and adequate and good. Not something from Dr Bing Bang Boom.

I paid $6000 a hundred years ago... and now I see them for $300 an eye! So I guess $1000-3000 is very accurate. I would say $2000 for a guess. Well worth it in EVERYBODY`S opinion.

I still wear glasses but my eyes were almost blind. Now I got thin glasses. good luck.

even the best docs shouldn't charge more than $3k now whereas before it was $6k beforehand no matter where ya went like gonelifting said.

hey Razor I have been meaning to ask you how that place turned out that you ordered the Proscar from, did it work out ok?

peoplerx.com?

came out fine. still waiting for the shipment. should arrive any day.

i just want to make sure i make a good balance between cost and QUALITY. It's hard to figure out the two with so many people offering them, and the ingrained tendency to go with the doc with the smoothest and polished marketing materials and salespeople. Which I want to avoid. I live in LA btw.

I say years in business, but also there are newer techniques coming out all the time. I have`nt been keeping up but there`s "No contact" laser or something, don`t know what that means.

i've also heard of these new contacts which can be worn for 30 days even while you sleep. That looks very ideal for me right now til i figure out what i want to do, and where I want to go.

I would rather pay more for piece of mind and go with someone with a great reputation... after all it is your EYES...

I don't know if I could get it done tho... to worried what if something goes wrong...

two things not to mess with or operate on... your eyes and your crank....

There are new procedures that (supposevely) give you better vison than Lasik

I actually looked into these last week. $70 for 6 pairs, not too bad. I think this might be a worthy alternative for me.

>$70 for 6 pairs

Where at? I inquired about prices of these in my area, and lowest I got was around $300 for 6 month supply. (6 pairs).

At the Del Amo Mall in Torrance, I think it was Pearle Vision. My current company doesn't carry a vision plan, so I'm not sure if they might be cheaper with insurance.

i might have to make a call to inquire about the type those lenses are, and if they are applicable to my case of stigmatism. The 30-day durable lenses that are offered these days, don't apply to my type of eyes unfortunately.

I did find out Tiger Woods doctor. Dr Wong. 1 310 784 2020. He charges around $1500/eye.

There are contacts you wear while you sleep and take off in the morning for ALL DAY corrected vision without having surgery or glasses/contacts on. They "reshape" your eye for better vision.

serious? I never heard of these. To quote a wiser man, "I'll look into it".
