Corporate world

How many of you work in the corporate world? After a 6 month layoff, I just started a job as a business analyst for another large corporation. It's only been about 2 weeks and I am already sick of all the bs. Same people no matter where you go. There is the pushy chick who thinks she's knows everything and freaks out if she is kept out of the loop on something. There is the exec (my boss) who willl re-state exactly what you said to him as if he just thought of it. etc, etc

For the first time tonight, I heard the most candid conversation of my career so far. I was out to dinner with my boss, (a VP) , and two managers. They were actually discussing, how to all out manipulate their employees. Specifically, how to keep people in their position while letting them THINK they could advance. MY jaw nearly dropped. I never thought conversations like this took place, that it was just paranoia on the part of frustrated employees.

I really think that 80% of those who progress up the corporate ladder are selfish, fucked up people. They may have wonderful corporate climbing skills, but probably miserable personal lives with few if any genuine friendships. Just a guess.

Ever see that commercial where the guy gives an idea, and the boss repeats it. The employee says "Thats what I said, but you did this" <moves hand left to right>. Boss replies "No I did this" <moves hand up to down>.

That just went through my head when you posted that.

Sleazy, but thats how they got to the top.

Agreed. My boss is a tool. He acts like a big family man, but hes a frigging infidel. I overheard him talking shit on me behind my back today over something stupid. He didn't have the balls to say it to my face. I'm quitting soon.

I can't wait to enlist, and then join the carpenter's union afterwards. Noone covers up the fact that they're assholes there.

My office is like every episode of Survivor X10.

That's why I only go into the office about twice a week. :)
