Copying a DVD

How can I copy a DVD on my hard drive so that I can watch it easily later on?

(without the audio and video folders and all the vob files)

DVDDecrypter >>> Vobblanker >>(if you want to copy it to blank DVD) >> DVDshrink

So with DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink you can copy the DVD to your hard drive, watch it on the HD (and eventually burn a DVD-R later)?

DVDDecrypter OR DVDFab you can rip it onto the hard drive. though nowdays they are nearly 100% encoded. So you are going to have to run it through VOBBlanker to remove the dead cells and codecs that hang up the playback.

Only if you want to make a legitimate backup of the disc you OWN will you need DVD Shrink in order to shrink it and then burn it.

Thanks AAP!

with this topic i am a pro
ive spent money on numerous dvd copy software and tons of different name blank dvds..
get i click dvd and go with the vitabirn blanks.... with the one click dvd it comes with a second software this is where you have all the settings dont forget that!!!!!
you want the copy speed to be at about 2 and the writing speed to be about 2..
this takes longer but your dvds wont skip or frezze during playback.......
if the movie you are trying to copy is over 2 hours in legnth then you want to get a dual layer disc, because it will skip on a single layer....
trust me do not buy alcohol120 or any one of those crap copy software they are garbage and i learned my lesson....
oh an also you want to get any dvd at slysoft.--- this will aloow you to copy without this you cant good luck and if u have any questions please contact me

i am new to the gear lol but not to copy dvds.......

oh and it is illegal to copy and sell or distribute, so keep that in mind

why buy anything?

The DVDFab, VOBBlanker and DVDShrink are all free and I burn about 15 DVDs per week with no probs.

aap,

did you buy anydvd? it's a fantastic program for removing some of the 'harder' dvd protection companies put on it. for instance, madagascar was a pain in the ass to burn, until i found that program.

my gf burns a shitload of stuff.

no, I didn't buy it. I use those I listed... all free. You know me... I don't spend any fucking money on software. If it ain't free, I get someone to pirate me a copy with the serial key.

dvd shrink works well... you can reauthor the movies to get rid of some stuff they put in the commercials in the beginning which allows you to burn the move (i'm learning the actual movie isnt encrypted).

re-author, copy movie only... golden.

yeah, dvd shrink is the best program out there.

a lot of other programs want to put a movie on two dvds. fuck that.

What the? DVD decrypt and DVD shrink (both free) will make most movies burnable to DVD. DVD decyrpt hasn't been updated so to kill the copyright AnyDVD by slysoft is the way to go. All this easy to do. You make it way to difficult. Dual layer is to expensive and you don't need it. DVD shrink will compress it and get rid of unwanted parts, you will see very little if any quality difference. As far as burning at 2x you need a faster computer or a better burner. I'm running a AMD 3200, 1 gig ram, MSI MOBOw/ Nforce chip set, NEC burner and have no problems burnering at 8x.

EXACTLY... i dont' pay for ANYTHING anymore, especially programs to copy DVD's when you can download those for fre!!....and with emule and bittorrent i can get the most expensive software for free......

also if you can still find a download for DVDdecrypter it is a great program also, that and DVD shrink is all i use

aap, are you a torrent junkie? maybe i can help you out with something...

pretty much, I download a ton of shit overnight before my travels.

I would like a dual-layer burner. I have a highly rated Plextor P712-A single but I have a hard time finding discs that don't make coasters. I recently bought some blank DVD+R's (forgot the brand) and I don't think I've burned a good one yet.

depends on the speed of your computer, but most up to date machines will rip it from the original DVD in say 10-15min, then you will need to shrink it unless you are using a dual layer burner and discs, which are way high compared to the regular disks....shrinking may take 20 min, then 8-10 minutes to burn it

about 20 mins total. I have probably made about 200 copies of movies last year alone.

not really bro, that is like a worst case scenario cd, some aren't encrypted and the dvd shrink will rip and shrink them for you, if it can't rip you have to use a proggy to rip it

see i just bought a burner like a month ago and i have yet to burn a DVD , mainly cuz i dont really know what i am doin.

i use dvdfab express to copy and burn dvds. one click it rips it and burns it to a single dvd. i've burned around 300 movies with maybe 2-3 coasters.

dial tone i have a plextor. i use TDKs with very good luck. zero coasters.
