cops..what are your opinions on them?

assholes, cowards, losers, morons or decent for society? here in vancouver, every week theres a new police brutality case and the VPD ALWAYS covers its ass. its getting sickening.. these guys are known for being too hard on ppl who dont deserve it and too lenient on those who do (letting terrorist thru the border as opposed to not letting certain touring metal bands into canada). obviously we need law enforcement in the city, but goddamn, i cant help but hate their donut eating asses.

I can't speak for all cops everywhere, but the ones in the City I live in are pretty lazy and they focus on the law-abiding people who live & work day to day instead of the groups of kids roaming the streets throwing rocks thru peoples windows & vandalising cars.....

Just like any job there are good ones and bad ones. or good ones who have a bad day etc... Hard ass job thats for sure. And your not going to get rich doing it.

its not so much my opinions on the cops, but rather just the way the regime is set up here in America, it needs improvement, more checks and balances, etc.

also when you take a corrupt person and give them power, thats not a good idea. or if you have a job that attracts corrupt people that isnt good either.

not to say that all policemen are corrupt, but the ones that do, definately make some sour apples
and the whole system just needs improvement IMO

I can't stand hearing stories how people who were caught driving at 110 MPH, while drunk and had weed on them get away because the cop doesn't want to do the paperwork while some poor minority with a busted tailight was thoroughly searched, questioned and given a hefty ticket for some bullshit.

cops are generally good people , but they are people thus you will have the bad ones that give the rest of them a bad rep. they have hard/shitty job and deserve mad respect for doing it, cuz if not this world would be ten times as fucked up as it is now. i cant stand to here welfare trash diss cops "they all fuckin suck" well mother fuckers that cuz they always have to come to your house for spousal abuse and what not. it aint their fault your fucked up.

More accountability would be nice, barely 1/4 of large cities have independent oversights for cops. The rest expect the police to 'police themselves' which is a dismal failure. Also, hiring cops who have better personalities would be a good improvement. Right now they just seem to hire 21 year old hardasses with military experience and a dickish personality then send them out on DV and child molestation calls. They really need to change the personality they seek out for cops.

Also I can't stand how cops want the public to admire and love them, then they turn around and constantly bash internal affairs. Internal affairs merely does to the police what you do to the public. Don't expect the public to love you if you cant love IA.
