Converting CDs to digital format

Has anyone taken their cds, lps etc and ripped them all to their computers? I really want to get rid of drawers of CDs and was thinking about just putting them all on my mac - I don't really care too much about the cases/covers.

don't' do the standard mac rip, otherwise your bitrate (quality) will suck donkey dick.

there are methods and free tools out there for ripping at (as close as you can get while still using mp3 compression) cd quality.

I use Windows Media Player. You can play with the settings so if you want a higher bit rate you can do that.

ape, vbr, cbr, and lame are all good quality mp3 ripping methods.
