Converted Fina: how do I store it?

HiGear said:
Mordent ideas aside fellas. You don't seem to have answers. Only dicks for brains!
neither the pellets or the converted product need to be refrigerated. perhaps the one that has "dicks for brains" is the one who cant figure out how to search this has come up a lot ;)

And how the HELL do you have 140 some posts a day like your profile says??? HOLY SHIT!!!

By the way, I am disappointed that the only responses I got were anecdotal or immature. Sometimes, when you want something done right, I guess you gotta do it yourself. [/B][/QUOTE]

oh and your "dick for brains" post is so mature, please share your vast experiences with us mere "dick for brains"

One should keep both fina pellets, powder and oil in the fridge. Fina IS unstable, I have seen it myself, the color changes from white-light yellow to dark yellow, even brown. The disadvantage of storing fina oil in the fridge is the precipitation of the fina, so you need to put it out of the fridge long before injecting.

Keep it in the fridge for long periods of non use, but when its being used keep it in a dark cool place. For the best results dont convert it until your ready to use it. Ive talked to the manufactures on the pellets and only high heat for long periods will degrade the pellets. Farmers keep them cold or frozen so when they implant the cattle, the pellets wont crush in the implant gun.

One strange idea Ive seen floating around for years is that people are afraid to expose the fina to heat but yet some bake the fina in the oven????? It causes some confusion, just remember the kit you use should containg the proper dissolving solution and that will kill any bacteria or anything else that may be around. Dont bake the fina.

You sure that's the fina turning color?]

(I doubt that fina is unstable in oil/BA.)

Quite often a few bastard polymers can form, and this will change the color of the solution... As little as 0.001% of polymerized garbage in your fina is enough to change the color.

BTW: You are getting the methylcellulose in the final solution, don't forget.. Most does not dissolve, but the little that does passes right through the filter and into the final solution.. It's my guess that the methylcellulose may be changing color..

HPLC anyone?

Hi Andy,

I use the powder, so (I hope) there are no impurities in my substance. Good point about the low impurity concentration. Although a brownish fina solution looks terrible, it seems to work just like the yellowish one.

Trenbolone has 3 conjugated double bonds and is thus sensitive to air oxidation. Andy is right in that it doesn't take much of the oxidized impurity to change the color though.

Heat will speed up this process considerably so if you don't believe me, just put your fina in the oven at 250 deg F for an hour or two and watch it turn darker yellow.

I expect light will catalyze the process as well due to radical formation so the best place to store the fina is in a cool dark place; the fridge is best but a cool place in the closet or in a drawer works too

I'm not so sure this is such the issue.. Structures like trenbolone don't normally undergo facile oxidation under ambient, uncatalyzed conditions. I'm not saying it doesn't happen.. just that nobody probably needs to worry about it.

If it is stored in the dark, it will probably be good to go for a while. The expiration dates on many meds are more for liability.

OH SHIT

OK folks...the instructions I got specifically said to put it in the oven and bake for 15 min at 225deg. Not only did I do that but I also heat it up before each injection in the microwave......Does this mean I destroyed my FINA? I made an awful lot of it........
