Yeah, i grew up in Fairfield County (new canaan to be exact). Nothingbut snooty bitches
Although i'm still in contact with some HS friends
 
I tend to think all of it is obv satire and certainly not true of the general demeanor of peeps here....although maybe it is and I just don't realize it because its my existence
 
Get an Asian or American car. you don't want people to mistake you for a snooty, stuck-up New England girl born with a silver spoon in her vag.

I knew a few girls like that growing up in NE. Granted, I was younger and teenagers are more prone to self-absorbed narrow minded thinking. The type does seem absent down south since I keep running into awesome people.

now see my experience with the south has always been horrible...falsely warm people that love to be up in each others shit and make everyone elses misery their own drama then back stab the ever loving hell out of each other

Where I'm from people still mind their own business and if they don't someone fills the place up with uppercut and it's settled.

Only problem we've had lately is some asshole trying to molest a little girl, but her dad took care of that

so I posted this up because I thought it was just funny but really thinkin about I think that maybe New England peeps are viewed as self centered and materialistic because no one talks about money...I noticed other locations have no problem discussing their finances with people..its just not done here...so maybe people here try to compensate more with whats construed as bragging...
"I'm well off look at my home/car/kids education." and we're also taught to not "pry" in to other peoples business so unless I really know you I won't ask whats up..ya know?

I'll look back on conversations and realize too late that someone was putting out a cue that they wanted to talk about something going on with them and I missed it ...or glossed over it because I don't want to pick in to their shit and be nosey.
when the truth is Im nosey as hell and tend to relate other peoples stories to my own experiences or try to put myself in their shoes...

make any sense??

not asking someone about finances/personal information is just general politeness, IMO. I don't think its a regional thing. It just has more to do with how you're raised, I guess.

and no one really likes a braggart/stuck up bitch, like the one you posted about, regardless of the region.
 
NE peeps are thought of as uptight and snooty, because they are. Its a culture. The higher your nose is up in the air, the better. Oh and they talk with their teeth clenched in wanna be British accents. There are kids with names like Buffy, Kip, and Whitney who wear turtlenecks under their Norwegian sweaters, Ralph Lauren khakis and Bass topsiders. The women carry those god awful floral print bags

Ct is really incredibly diverse given the size of the state...eastern end isn't anything like the western end and the coast is another animal all together

I actually have plenty of childhood friends from CT that are normal despite living there their whole lives but those are the non rich Non snobs i became acquaintedwith

Im not..when I was little I lived in a pretty normal suburb then moved as a teenager to a really rural area and now live in a pretty affluent area...but we worked to get here.
My dad is middle class..my mom was a baller...funny now tho is my Dad saved money like crazy his whole life my mom pissed it away...and the difference is they were divorced since I was a young baby.

The neighborhood we lived in while the house was being rebuilt is very snooty/full of assholery but weirdly the one thing they all consistently said was how fun, down to earth and "real" we were...which probably means not rich enough...haha

its kind of why Im a bundle of paradoxes all rolled in to one though because Ive had the gamut of exposure
I like fine things but Im not in anyones face about it...and it doesnt kill me to not own nice things as long as everyone in my house has what they legitimately need and are comfortable...

i dont like east coast people that much. they are too rude and uptight. i went on the washington DC trip we went to Virginia, DC,Maryland and Philly. Philly has the worst people. People would look at u like u killed their pet. my friends and I almost got in a fight with some punk black kids in philly
