My 3 year old nephew apparently went on my computer and deleted my entire desktop. (all the icons that were on it)

is there anyway to get them back? there is not one icon on there. not even the recycle bin. i didnt even know you can delete the recycle bin.

help would be much appreciated. thanks.

u cant delete recycle bin unless you really know how to?...you sure he didnt just mess up the program "Explorer" which is what shows your desktop and all that shit...try ctrl alt delete ...file....run....explorer.exe

can u call me? lol

i dont know wtf im doin.

I didn't know you could delete the recycle bin icon randomly....I tried to delete mine just now and nothing happened. The programs should still be on your computer, you can just create new shortcuts or desktop icons for them if it's just the short cuts/desktop icons that have been deleted?

Do this to move back in time, your computer should be like it was at that time:

Start Menu --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore --> Select the time before he did it and do it.

Takes time. XP has this not sure about anything else. If not just find the program, right click and create a desktop icon.

reycle bin, my computer, etc can't be deleted from the desktop at all, but with XP and the new style start menu selected they are hidden from view. When you click on the START menu it is doublewide.....like your home?

:) , had to do it orb.
