computer problem???

I had windows 98 and just installed 2000 server edition to my computer...I know not the greatest but it's better than 98 and it was for free.

Anyway I use to be able to goto Start..Run...than put in MSCONFIG and it would give me what is running in the background.

Now I cant get to that on 2000 and I just got a message that my system is running low on resources and I need to close stuff but I cant find the menu with how

any help for the computer idot?

Using any windows "server" OS for a pc is not the best idea. Send me a PM and I might be able to help you.

Agreed... This is likely the "Cause" of the memory shortage and you are looking for a fix in the wrong direction..

If you must keep it, increase physical RAM or the HDD Swap space until you can afford a better machine running XP.

sounds like you've run into a process problem. first go to "system management" and go to file folder cache, once there hit the clear button.

if your running the XP version of 2000 you will have to locate the main system processing attachment in order to reboot the main drive.

then just hit restart, you should be fine.
 
Hey MSCONFIG doesnt work for Windows 2000... 1 of the many reasons it sucks for home use... Windows XP has MSCONFIG!!.. There are some programs you can download to access your startup files.. I dont remeber the name off hand..
