Computer keeps locking up! help!

this goddamn computer keeps locking up, and i don't know what to do. i scanned with an updated virus definition list; nothing found. i haven't installed jack shit, nor have i downloaded jack shit.

it will make this clicking noise...not like the noise it makes while loading/reading something big...but different, and then it will lock up!

i have no idea what to do.

i can't even get in the time to write scathing remarks to some of you libs here...it is that bad

but seriously, what should i do?

pay attention to the location of the clicking sound, and if it's coming from the hard drive. If it is back up everything yesterday because it's about to die.

it isnt like a constant series of clicks. it will be 3-4 loud *CLICK* *CLICK* *CLICK* *CLICK*.

i can't even reboot using ctrl+alt+del, nor can i turn it off using the power button. i actually have to kill the power to surge protector.

fuck! this is a 2month old computer.

Then your drive will be under a warranty. It won't save you ass pain right now, but it will get you a new drive after a painful RMA process. You probably already have bad clusters on that drive.

Don't let some numbnuts tech support dude who can't speak english tell you anything else. Your drive is a mort.
