I just installed a new hard drive in my hp,but I can't find my windows os disc. What can I do to get it off my old drive to put it on the new one?I looked online, and it said to go to system cd creator from the hp tools menu, but that option of course is not an option .

You really need the disc...Windows does a lot of unpacking and building off the disc. There is no way I know of to install without a CD.

What kind of modem do you have? If you have a cable modem, you could get on Kazzalite or Bearshare and download Windows.

Maybe because your partition configuration has changed...
If your old HD was set as primary master and has later changed to primary slave or secondary master, etc. the info contained in boot.ini (if XP uses it) wouldn't be valid...
Just set it as it was set before, start it and download Drive Copy..

Didn't your hard drive come with a installation disk, 3.5"? I just bought a hard drive with and the disk has a utility to copy your old hard drive over to the new one.
