Computer Gurus Assistance Needed

I bought an S-Video cable to hook up my lap top to my tv. I got it all hooked up right, but when I start the computer what is on the computer shows up for a brief moment on the tv, and then the tv goes blank. Whats up with it? Karma for help.

You need to go to your display properties.. and turn it on to where it it sending the signal out of the s-video port on your card. Some will let you do the monitor and the s-video at the same time.. some will not.

interesting that it shows up for a brief moment; ususally it either does or does not. I would guess there is a software piece that is loaded at startup which controls the behavior of the graphics card. The display properties section is a good place to search. Every notebook model is different though; my VAIO has a hotkey to change between int/ext/both.

He's right, I had the exact same problem with mine. It's where you enable monitor support.
